Everbloom Paper Flowers

Dahlia (Dinner Plate, Open)

$225

Dinner plate dahlias are the showpieces of the late-summer garden, the ones that open eight inches across or more on a stem that has to be staked to carry them. They come in nearly every color except true blue, but the darkest cultivars, the wine and black-cherry ones, have always been the collector’s favorites. This one is built to that standard.

The paper is hand-dyed before cutting, so the color moves within each petal. Hot magenta runs along the pointed outer tips, then deepens through plum into a near-black burgundy where the petals crowd toward the middle. The petals are cut to a point with slightly frayed ends and rolled by hand so they curl in on themselves, then set in graduated rings. At the heart is a tight, dark knot of petals still partly furled, so the bloom is fully open but hasn’t finished unfolding. The leaf is hand-dyed in olive green with a wavy edge. Eight hours of work go into a single stem.

A dramatic, low-lit stem for a dark table, a moody arrangement, or a single tall vase where the color can do the work. It holds this stage of bloom indefinitely, with no staking and no dropped petals, and it won’t turn brown at the edges the way a cut dahlia does within days.

Materials & Making

Every piece is built from premium German and Italian crepe paper — hand-dyed, hand-painted, and shaped petal by petal. Stems are wired throughout, so each piece can be bent, angled, and arranged as you like, and holds its shape once set.

A multi-step protective finish seals the color, adds a subtle luster, and guards against fading and humidity. Because every piece is colored by hand, tones vary slightly from the photograph — no two are identical, and yours will be its own.

Made to Order

Each piece is made by hand after your order is confirmed. Typical preparation times, measured from the date your order is confirmed with Julia: 7–10 days for one to three stems, 10–14 days for four to seven, and 14–21 days for larger commissions. Shipping transit adds approximately 5–7 days. Timelines run longer through the holiday season and the spring wedding months, and your confirmed date will always be stated in writing before you commit.

Working toward a wedding or event date? Include the date in your request and we’ll confirm the full schedule before anything is finalized. Need a piece sooner than the times above? Ask — a compressed timeline can often be arranged.

Prefer a different palette? Most pieces can be made in custom colors — describe what you have in mind, or send a photograph, and Julia will confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Every piece is finished with a tag signed and dated by Julia, nested in tissue, and boxed for safe travel. Preparation & Delivery
