Everbloom Paper Flowers

Dahlia (Ball)

$225

Ball dahlias are the tidy ones. Where the cactus and dinner plate types sprawl, a ball dahlia’s petals roll lengthwise into small cups with blunt, rounded tips, and they spiral outward in even rows until the whole head becomes a dense sphere. The form is regular enough that growers can tell one at a glance, and a deep wine-colored one looks almost sculpted.

The paper is hand-dyed before cutting, so the color is worked into the fiber and reads as a dark burgundy with fine streaking along the grain. Every petal is rolled by hand into its cup and set individually in rings that step outward from the center, with the rounded tips showing a slightly lighter edge where the dye thins. At the heart sits a small, tightly wrapped bud in raspberry red, split to show a gold core, the way a real ball dahlia keeps its center closed while the outer rows have opened. The stem is wrapped by hand in layers of green, with a paler tone showing through between the turns.

A compact, graphic stem for a dark table, a narrow vase, or a cluster of three where the repeating rounds read as a pattern. It holds its form and color indefinitely, with no dropped petals and no browning at the tips.

Materials & Making

Every piece is built from premium German and Italian crepe paper — hand-dyed, hand-painted, and shaped petal by petal. Stems are wired throughout, so each piece can be bent, angled, and arranged as you like, and holds its shape once set.

A multi-step protective finish seals the color, adds a subtle luster, and guards against fading and humidity. Because every piece is colored by hand, tones vary slightly from the photograph — no two are identical, and yours will be its own.

Made to Order

Each piece is made by hand after your order is confirmed. Typical preparation times, measured from the date your order is confirmed with Julia: 7–10 days for one to three stems, 10–14 days for four to seven, and 14–21 days for larger commissions. Shipping transit adds approximately 5–7 days. Timelines run longer through the holiday season and the spring wedding months, and your confirmed date will always be stated in writing before you commit.

Working toward a wedding or event date? Include the date in your request and we’ll confirm the full schedule before anything is finalized. Need a piece sooner than the times above? Ask — a compressed timeline can often be arranged.

Prefer a different palette? Most pieces can be made in custom colors — describe what you have in mind, or send a photograph, and Julia will confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Every piece is finished with a tag signed and dated by Julia, nested in tissue, and boxed for safe travel. Preparation & Delivery

Care & Repairs

Though delicate in appearance, each piece is remarkably durable and may be bent and arranged as needed. Keep out of prolonged direct sun and damp environments, and your piece will hold its color and form for decades. Because every piece is made by hand to order, all sales are final.
